Recycled Material:
Polywood is totally recyclable. Every Polywood shutter contains up to 20% recycled Polywood content. No other shutter company does that.
The Industry’s Only: Take-Back Program
If a Polywood customer ever wants to change their window coverings, Sunburst Shutters offers a program to keep Polywood out of landfills. The customer simply removes their shutters and calls Sunburst to arrange a pick-up. Sunburst will take the shutters and re-use them or re-grind them for use in future Polywood shutters, keeping them out of landfills. Click here to schedule a pick up.

A 3rd party thermal test showed that the Polywood Shutter Insulating System blocked as much as 30 degrees of temperature coming through the window. That means the HVAC system doesn’t have to work as hard.

Recycled Packaging:
Polywood shutters are packaged in reusable corner pieces with minimal cardboard.

Waste Reduction:
Sunburst Shutters and its partners reuse any and all materials whenever possible. We recycle water used to cool shutter components as they come out of ovens. We reuse packaging materials. We reuse shutter pieces or regrind them and recycle them into new shutters. We recycle hundreds of tons of materials every year.
