Window Treatment Recall Announcement
Today, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of over 5 million blinds and shades because they pose potential strangulation hazards for children. Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions products are not part of this recall.
Sunburst offers a variety of child-safe products that include shutters, as well as other treatments with cordless controls and remote control.
For many years, Sunburst has been educating consumers about the dangers of corded window treatments. Sunburst has partnered with the non-profit organization Parents for Window Blind Safety (PFWBS) and developed an outreach program to alert consumers to the potential strangulation hazards of corded products.
In 2005, PFWBS awarded Sunburst's shutter products with their Safety Seal of Approval. This was awarded after testing confirmed that our shutters were completely safe for children. Sunburst's shutter products were the first shutters to receive this certification.
